St. Vincent is an upcoming American comedy film directed and written by Theodore Melfi. Melissa McCarthy stars along side Bill Murray, Chris O'Dowd and Naomi Watts.

SynopsisEdit

A young boy whose parents just divorced finds an unlikely friend and mentor in the misanthropic, bawdy, hedonistic, war veteran who lives next door.

ProductionEdit

The screenplay of the film was black listed, written in 2011 by Theodore Melfi. Previously Jack Nicholson was rumored to star in the film in the place of Bill Murray, but Murray signed on the film in July 2012. On March 11, 2013 Melissa McCarthy was offered a lead role and she later joined the cast. On March 22, Chris O'Dowd joined the cast. Naomi Watts joined the cast on April 22 in the role of a Russian prostitute. On July 19 Scott Adsit joined the cast, he will play the role of ex-husband of McCarthy.

FilmingEdit

Filming began the first week of July 2013, with scenes in Brooklyn, New York and Belmont Park in Elmont, Long Island, New York.
